Over the years I have raised four calves from a bottle. Raising calves from a bottle is not easy. Baby calves require a lot of attention in the first few weeks of their life because they are prone to get sick. The first step in raising calves is to be able to get up early to take care of your calf. Taking care of a baby calf includes mixing up a bottle, feeding it to the calf, and cleaning the bottle. Taking care of a baby calf also includes cleaning the calf's stall, taking it grain, and providing clean water to the calf.

How does this relate to my theme?

It relates to my theme by showing that taking care of baby calves teaches responsibility by keeping track of several different jobs for the health and growth of the calf. One must be responsible for the calf to survive.

I started showing cattle when I was seven and I have been showing cattle every year since. The key to being good at showing cattle is to spend time with your calf and work with them faithfully. To raise a show cow you have to feed your calf a special mixture of feeds. Working with my cow includes halter breaking it, leading it, and tying it up. At a show you have to wash your calf, blow your calf out, and get your cow ready in other ways too. In the show ring you have to keep your eye on the judge and lead your calf around the show ring and then set it up.

It relates to my theme by conveying that showing cattle takes a lot of responsibility. It shows that a lot of work and prep goes into showing a cow. Those who work hard might even win awards.
