English Language came easy to me when I was a student but it is not the same for children with language and learning difficulties and this is the time SENO like myself and others step in, to guide children with language and learning difficulties.<br><br>One takeaway would be if we want to work with children having difficulties with spelling, work on phonological issues first before teaching them phonics.<br><br>Usha<br><br></div>]]></description>

Increase the vocabulary using various resources such as,&nbsp;<br>- Flash cards E.g., High Frequency Words and Sight Words in 1 min dash&nbsp;<br>- Colourful Semantics to build the WH questions.&nbsp;<br>- Visual support to better facilitate visual learners.&nbsp;<br><br>2. Students lack of content (semantics) due to lack of exposure. Strategies to enhance background knowledge,<br>- Reading books, articles, essays<br>- Peer sharing&nbsp;<br>- Group work&nbsp;<br><br>3. Make it fun and enjoyment<br>Repeat in different ways at any age with a planned lesson carefully using reward system as a motivator. E.g., earn 20 clips to earn a toy.&nbsp;<br><br>4. Pocket chart aims to support the structure of the syntax and grammatical using WH questions. Visual cues is use as a visual prompt to reinforce their conceptual understanding.&nbsp;<br><br>5. Pragmatics is the figurative language where most of our students with special challenges have difficulties in reading non-verbal gestures and may easily receptive misinterpreted in social setting. As such students on spectrum requires explicit teaching and one way is social stories or role play may provide perspective thinking of others and how they can think made good decisions to sustain the social relationships.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
