Historically, how did the Dreadnought create an arms race ?

The Dreadnought had importance as it was made during a time where countries (such as Russia & France) were amping up their military, the fact that it was made by a country already known for its superior navy (The British Royal Navy), furthering the need by competing countries to attempt to dominate the sea, and that this set the standard for warships.

How did the Treaty of Versailles actually start an arms race?

The Treaty of Versailles had importance as it made a lot of countries figure out how or if they were going to amp up their arms. Such as Japan and Britain that signed a treaty to restrict arms or Germany who (while violating the treaty) amped up their arms/military, creating competition between countries in Europe and the Pacific.

The Cuban Missile Crisis had importance because it dealt with the use of missiles in a secret plan made by Nikita Khrushchev and Fidel Castro to plant missleheads in Cuba. It became a standoff once US intelligence deemed Cuba to be rid of nuclear weapons. This was the closest the two countries ever came close to a whole nuclear war.

The historical context despite it relating to different countries, it shows that once certain parts of a nation’s military are deemed superior, another will attempt to dominate by an means. The treaty of versailles as it was incapable of stopping an enemy nation at its time from building the arms, then it surely had no capability to stop two countries from doing the same post world war. The Atomic bomb because it targeted a nation the had conflicts with the US but showed that during this arms race, these 2 countries had the means of using other countries for their own benefit (how the Soviet Union used Cuba) all for the sake of showing superiority and dominance of the other.
