         <description><![CDATA[<div>I personally tap my leg while I am sitting when I am focusing or "in the zone" in a (usually timed) assessment.&nbsp; The tapping helps me release some energy and get into a comfortable rhythm while working on the academic task at hand.<br><br>Another sensory activity I have recently explored is using essential oils to either be calm or alert and using meditation and breathing practices to help ground myself.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ruby, I love your ideas...in particular, I'm fascinated by the freezing objects in ice one and the pouring station. These are so easy to do, but I can easily imagine students engaging with them. The shaving cream drawing was a very popular reward option for  students in my last student teaching placement. Another that hasn't been mentioned that was touched upon in the Edutopia Sensory Room article you shared is body socks. A couple of the students in that same placement really enjoyed getting to put themselves in the body sock and walk around the room in that cocoon. </div>]]></description>
