How did this course meet your expectations?

Going into this class I did not have a lot of expectations, I assumed there would be quizzes but that is about it. I was happy to see that all the information I learned was directed to teaching and useful to have in classroom setting. I was also excited to be able to use what I learned to teach a lesson in a elementary classroom! I now know how do a lot of keyboard shortcuts and so many different ways to implement technology in a classroom. I do not have any suggestions for improvement, I thought it was a great class!

Did you meet your personal expectations during this course?

I would say that I did meet my personal expectations with this course. Before starting I wanted to get an A in the class but I also wanted to make sure that I learned a lot even though it was online. I think I will end this class with an A so I met that goal, and I definitely learned a lot. I feel like having group projects and teaching a class in an actual classroom really helped me learn and put what I had learned to the test.

What was your favorite tech tool you used or learned about during the course or you observations?

I would say my favorite tech tool was Wizer because it does a wonderful job of reinventing worksheets. This online tool makes it so that you can create and personalize a worksheet to use for your classroom or use one that other teachers have made and shared on the platform. Wizer makes it so that the worksheet is easy to make and easy for the children to use. It also makes it so that it incorporates multiple ways of learning for kids, letting the teacher put videos and readings into the worksheet. When I am a teacher this is one resource that I can see myself using a lot!

What did you learn in this course that you plan to implement in your future classroom?

Before doing the group project where we talked about how income can affect a kid's access to technology, I had not really thought about that problem or how to address it. I think one way for younger kids would be to not spend a lot of schoolwork home with the kids, or make it so that it can be a paperwork sheet to take home. In my future classroom, I think I will need to be aware of what kind of access to technology my kids have at their homes, and adjust to fit their needs. Lastly, It is important to teach the kids how to be good digital citizenship and I learned that technology can be a wonderful way to make a lesson more interesting and connect it to the children's lives more.
