I also appreciate the PBIS refreshers, especially during this time of year.
2. I have noticed that community circle has been more of a challenge with a different group of students this year. However, my class loves it and I am working on ways to adapt it to keep the attention of my students and to be appropriate to their needs. I would like to include more mindfulness in my classroom and look forward to learning how this can be adapted to primary classrooms.
3.

I am now able to monitor student growth better with this program. Students are using it almost daily and I am able to follow their progress and assign specific standards/lessons that coincide with my classroom lessons.
2. I plan to continue using the program with the students as well as continue digging in to the program more for my own understanding.
3. I would like to have another session on iReady for a refresher and possible new learning if the district is going to continue with the program.

1. I really enjoyed the Math after hours last year. It allowed me to micro focus on a topic which in turn was easy to incorporate into my classroom practices. The session that helped the most dealt with differentiation with small groups.
2. This year, my math lessons always have built in times that allow me to give leveled work to my emerging learners/ a means for them to access the information/ finally practice it.
3. I believe the nature of the student is tending to more of the impulsive side. I'd like to see future PD around how to help these students be present in the moment both academically and emotionally.

1. The mindfulness training was helpful, and I think it has helped me to be PBIS conscious as well. SIOP training from April and Lindsey at district offices helped provide engaging techniques to incorporate into the classroom and help students access academic language. Also, the NGSS trainings with Kimberly helped me navigate the scope & sequence, and provide extensions for what we are learning in class.
2. For mindfulness, I followed the 21 day homework routine, and I felt that made a positive difference in my class and personal life. The SIOP training reaffirmed what I am doing in my class, but provided additional ways in which I can improve activities, also it really reaffirms reflecting on your teaching.
3. Next year, I would like more help with reading groups (I would like to spend more time with Jan Richardson) and differentiating math.

1. I appreciated the goal setting professional development in August that Scott did for our staff.
2. My class has used the goal setting stems to meet our class points behavior goals throughout the year.
3. Next year: I would like more training in the content areas, similar to the trainings that occurred during the common core transitions (Sandra Atkins, Robert Kaplinsky, Jennifer Serrvallo, etc). I realize that these are often offered at OneByOne, but not all teachers are often able to attend and in turn are out of the "loop" in regards to what is necessarily best practices for kids within the content areas. This year Steach shared that our district underwent the MOST change historically that we have undergone with new curriculum, new technology, etc. etc. and after minimal training on each of these, I think it's important to ensure staff proficiency, as well as, work with the great influx of new staff joining our building next year to ensure they are on board with the things our district, school, and grade levels believe in and do. Also, I think any work we can do on restorative circles and practices will benefit our school culture and the way that we talk to kids. Additionally, any professional development we can continue to receive about serving kids in poverty will help us better serve the population here at Fircrest. Love always, Lara
