         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>According to KPMG analysis, UK high streets could lose between 20-40% of their retail offerings due to the accelerated shift to online commerce. Some cities are being proactive around these shifts and investing money in making sure that their destination shopping streets and precincts are fit for the future, with Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo approving an EUR250m plan to revamp the Champs-Élysées, turning the luxury shopping strip into an "extraordinary garden".</li></ul><div><br>Reducing Waste</div><ul><li><strong>Test reusable packaging solutions:</strong> Work with businesses in the space such as Repack and LimeLoop to build solutions that will allow consumers to return packaging rather than disposing of it. Asos is set to start trialling returnable packaging in 2021. Look at strategies being employed by grocery retailer GoodClub to help manage reverse logistics for packaging.</li><li><strong>Focus on making packaging more sustainable:</strong> H&amp;M has begun testing a paper packaging solution in some of the brands in its stable and Asos committed to using 90% of recycled content in its garment and mailing bags in 2020.</li><li><strong>Continue to reward good behaviours</strong></li></ul><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

Drawing inspiration from its natural surroundings, the development was constructed entirely with locally and regionally-sourced materials, and receives its operating energy from solar panels concealed in leaf trellises dotted around the site.</li></ul><div><mark>Global Brand Strategy</mark></div><ul><li>In Hualien, Taiwan, Starbucks is working with renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma to create a 3,400 sq ft, four-storey Starbucks branch constructed of 29 upcycled shipping containers.</li><li>in Taiwan, Nike is working with local research and design company Miniwiz on its NikeLab stores. Miniwiz is committed to creating a circular economy and runs an initiative called The Trash Lab, which it claims is the world's only laboratory exclusively dedicated to discovering the upcycling potential of pre- and post-manufacturing waste. Made from a mineral base and pure water based acrylic resin, it’s an eco-friendly alternative to resin, concrete or plaster. Mixed with other materials such as pigments, ink, metal fillers, to achieve different finishes, it is both durable and waterproof.<br><br><strong>Re-board </strong>is a versatile and reasonably strong material. It’s particularly useful when print is used, for unusual shapes, or if construction is needed. It also requires very little energy to recycle.<br><br><a href="https://newspaperwood.com/">Newspaper Wood</a> reverses a traditional production process; not from wood to paper, but from (news)paper to wood. When a Newspaper Wood log is cut, the layers of paper appear like wood grain or growth rings of a tree and therefore resemble the aesthetics of real wood.<br><br></div><div>Benefits are plentiful. The material has already had an element of circularity and is created using relatively low emission. It is long lasting and not easily damaged. It also has a high quality finish.<br>This beautiful material may look like terrazzo but it’s actually made from wood chippings. <a href="https://foresso.co.uk/">Foresso</a> is a relatively new material composed of timber, wood dust, cement, waste lime plaster, and 0% VOC resin cast onto an 18mm birch plywood substrate.<br><br></div><div><strong>Foresso</strong> have put in place strict rules for their supply chain, sourcing only responsibly and ethically. It has a minimum 75% recycled material sourced from British trees and is FSC Certified. It’s also long wearing with a very high finish.<br><br><a href="http://www.greencastus.com/"><strong>Greencast®</strong></a> is an extremely high-quality cast acrylic entirely made from 100% recycled consumer acrylic.<br><br></div><div>It’s the only 100% recycled plastic on the market that has the same qualities as normal acrylic. Comes in a range of different colours and thicknesses. It also takes back used material to be recycled to increase its circularity.<br><br><strong>Sustainable plywood</strong> can be made from a variety of different woods, with wood being a natural product from a renewable resource. It’s long lasting, very versatile and can be printed on. Recycled easily, it’s also cost effective.<br><br><strong>Bamboo</strong> fibres are particularly versatile and bamboo can grow without fertilizers or pesticides. Some bamboo materials are 100% biodegradable and the plant itself creates 35% more oxygen when compared to similar plants.<br><br></div><div>Cost effective and versatile, with a large majority of the materials being biodegradable.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Since they first became a regular component of retail design around the mid-19th century, mannequins have come to reflect society’s changing attitudes to the human form. What’s more, mannequins have transformed the shop window into a performative space. <br><br><strong>Industrial revolution and mid- to late 19th Century</strong></div><div>Before the industrial revolution, shop mannequins were seen primarily as a behind-the-scenes tool of the trade, designed without heads and used for the practical purposes of dress-fitting and tailoring custom suits. As technological advancements brought about the production of industrially manufactured, off-the-rack clothing, mannequins used for tailoring purposes fell out of widespread use.<br><br><strong>Second World War<br></strong>Owing largely to wartime rationing, mannequins during the Second World War became slimmer and less decorative. To save on resources, they were also made shorter: around 5’3” for women and 5’9” for men. But the wartime period saw more lasting changes, with the first plastic mannequins created by designers Maury Wolf and David Vine.<br><br><strong>The Swinging Sixties and seventies</strong></div><div>The countercultural movement of the sixties led to mannequins depicting more realistic (albeit still skinny) body forms in realistic postures. There was a return to the stylised elongation of the art deco age—the thinning of limbs and body contours to uphold the stick figure form.</div><div><br><strong>The eighties to present</strong></div><div>By the advent of the eighties, mannequin design had shifted even further away from anything that resembled a living human. Simon Doonan, former creative director of Barneys, portrayed an especially abstract aesthetic in his fanciful window displays, which featured faceless stylisations and eggheaded designs.</div><div><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

The Japanese mall are leading the way when creating a shopping centre that incorporates sustainability and from here is where our community garden idea began.</div>]]></description>
