It is one of my favourite songs (and from my favourite movie, as well!) This song is meaningful to me because of the sense of hope it leaves me with. I Am Sam is a very moving movie with "hope" as a central theme. The lyrics show that no matter what might be in your way, you have the ability to persevere and keep on. There is an overwhelming sense of peace this piece leaves me with.

It is not an overly strong pulse, but one that is felt nonetheless. The pulse is steady that it creates a peaceful, calming effect. I find myself intrinsically "toe-tapping" along to this one!

Tempo: The pulse throughout the song is not overly fast nor overly slow; it is consistent and could be described as a "comfortable walking pace."

Meter: The song alternates between 3 steady beats and 4 steady beats. The last beat in the groups of 4 often feels it could be a "rest."

Rhythm: The lyrics carry along the beat in a very pleasant way; the last note seems to be held a bit longer creating a pause effect following with a more upbeat note when she sings "Black-bird".
