I think it means that by becoming man, Jesus gave us eternal life. God has eternal life so by giving us eternal life it "makes us God" like the quote says. If Jesus hadn't become man and come to earth, we would not have salvation and go to heaven like Jesus did after He died on the cross. So essentially when Jesus became human it enabled us to become more similar to Him and be "like God" through eternal salvation

I think "light from an invisible lamp" means that the light is there but you can't tell where it is coming from, the source is hidden. So in Tolkien's LOTR there are elements of Catholicism but we may not know that these parts of the story are influenced by Catholicism. The source of his ideas (Catholicism) is hidden so it is not direct when you watch it. It relates t catholic imagination the idea that God is everywhere even though we can't see Him. He is even in the aspects of the LOTR but we may not directly see Him.

Deprived means lacking a basic need while depraved means morally corrupt and wicked. I think the statement means that Catholic Imagination causes Catholics to view sin as the absence of God's needed presence, sin can be dissolved with God. While Protestants see sin as a morally corrupt thing of this world that will only go away once they meet God in Heaven. Because we as Catholics believe God is everywhere and is here on earth, we don't see sin as wicked and taking over the earth because God dwells here.

1. Gandalf can be seen as similar to Jesus because he dies while saving the others from the demon like Jesus dies saving us from sin/the devil. And when he rises from the dead he is "Gandalf the White" he is glowing and pure, just like when Jesus rose from the dead and emerged from the tomb alive and pure.
2. Gollum symbolizes the devil because he is trying to sabotage Frodo's mission to destroy the ring (like the devil trying to tempt Jesus in the desert and keep him from dying on the cross)
3. The ring can be a symbol for sin because Frodo (like Jesus) goes on a tough journey to destroy the ring and save middle earth, just like how Jesus endured death and conquered sin in order to give us eternal life, in order to save the world.
