2. Gollum symbolizes the devil because he is trying to sabotage  Frodo's mission to destroy the ring  (like the devil trying to tempt Jesus in the desert and keep him from dying on the cross)

The Horns are used to symbolize moral victory and triumph of Theoden. A horn is also given to Mary as a parting gift. They provide a sacramental effect because when they are blown they give off a spiritual significance and power. They have an almost magical effect on the people that hear them.

They are shot through each other so rather than being one and the other it is both. The elvish cloaks are an example of this because they are made of things from earth but also carry spiritual properties. this allows the visible to be a vehicle for us to see the invisible.

And the kingsfoil also heals the king physically and spiritually just like how the sacrament of Anointing heals the soul before a person meets God when they are sick and dying.
