Children need to know that value is placed on their language.&nbsp;<br><br>There is a growning awareness in schools. e.g., putting up national flags of different groups.&nbsp;<br><br>Community Centres might also play a role in promoting Irish. </div>]]></description>

It documents whats happening for the child.<br>Documentation in early learns documents the children's learning.&nbsp;<br>Children's self-evaluation is a great way of assessment, their own learning story in a learning journal. Child-led approach.&nbsp;<br>Children draw pictures of their families every month.<br>Targets are great - consider the diversity of children.&nbsp;<br>Test should not be a reason for doing anything. Some observations are filed away in a filing cabinet. Should not be done for the sake of doing it.&nbsp;<br>Need to look at what is meaningful for the child and the family.&nbsp;<br>Maybe a photo communicates as much for some parents/children. <br><br></div>]]></description>

Potential there.&nbsp;<br><br>What about the learning progressions in the primary language curriculum?  How come they were quietly set aside? These could be used to measure aspects of English.
