You may never have given this much thought before until you either has to build your own house, but what are the minimum dimensions you can build your bathroom? Bathrooms are never really large rooms and unless you intend to build a mansion there is really no need to have it being grand and spacious. So let’s take look at those dimensions in detail and see what would be a comfortable size for your bathroom.

Now the first thing you need to decide is what type of fixtures should be in your bathroom. Once you come to terms with that then you can have a better idea about minimal size. The shower is what you should decide on first. The fixture that takes up the most space in your bath it will be determining your bathroom size. To make the most and save bathroom size, you can try Merlyn series eight screens.

Shower bath

If you have decided to go with a shower bath, then your bathroom need not be much wider than the length of the bath. Shower baths normal sizes can be as small as 1205 x 815 x 425mm. So with a bath length of 1205mm which translates to approximately 4 feet you bathroom would only have to wide enough to fit the bath. Once you have determined that it is simply a matter of added enough space to place your basin and toilet. With both the basin and toilet averaging about 21 inches in width you would simply have to add a reasonable space between the two. So two feet between bath and toilet, the same between toilet and basin and of course your standard space left for a door. That would give you your minimum size for a bathroom with a shower bath. But, with the help of Iconic shower enclosures you can save more space and make it look like enough space.

Your bathroom would also need the extra space to accommodate bath stuff since it should have space around it on two sides. You can think about Shower trays and other needed shower enclosures to give your bathroom a spacious look.

Standing showers

Now we are coming to standing shower. The minimum size for this is 30 mm squared. It is popular with some because it is a cheaper option. All you need is the space for the shower, the plumbing fixtures, and either shower screens or bathscreen. Not only is this option cheaper it gives you the chance to make a custom shower. It is suggested that if you want to strike a reasonable balance you should aim for 36mm squared.

So with all this in mind you may be wondering why there is not more emphasis on minimum size. The reason is you need to strike a balance between comforts as well. This is a room that you will be using a lot and you want to make your time in the bathroom comfortable and not a chore.
Merlyn showering
