         <description><![CDATA[<div>Vocabulary Terms for this Unit<br><br><strong>Science- Forms of s</strong>ystematic knowledge of the physical or material world derived through observation and experimentation.<br><br></div><div><strong>Observation- Observing or noting a fact or occurrence for scientific or other purposes.<br></strong><br></div><div><strong>Inference- A conclusion drawn from observing something to understand it more thoroughly in the future.<br></strong><br></div><div><strong>Hypothesis- An educated guess based on seen evidence and research.<br></strong><br></div><div><strong>Theory- Tested understandings of the world but that cannot be proven completely.<br><br>Independent variable- The part of an experiment that is changed.<br></strong><br></div><div><strong>Dependent variable- The part of an experiment that is measured.<br></strong><br></div><div><strong>Control group- The part of an experiment that stays the same and is unaltered.<br></strong><br></div><div><strong>Law- Tested understandings of the world that have been proven completely.<br><br><br>Unit 1: Scientific Processes is the intro chapter to biology. It covers many basic parts of science as well as biology. It is a preparation course going over lots of common knowledge in the scientific world. Its main goal is to provide the reader with all of the terms and background experience required to fully understand the rest of the subjects.
