My "milkshake" moment was when one of my students starting becoming a behavior problem every day. I sat back and started trying to figure out why he is a behavior problem all of a sudden. I jotted down the time of day this child's behaviors started to escalate, who was with him, and why he started acting out. The conclusion that I came to was that he wanted attention from his friends, myself, and other teachers and if he acted out, that is exactly what he got, attention. When this students started to become an issue, I would always ignore him and I had to "train" my other students to ignore him as well. By ignoring him, he would get angrier however he finally came to his senses and stopped the behavior.
