The first estate owned 10% of the land and did not agree with enlightenment ideas. 2nd estate was made up of rich nobles and owned 20% of the land.  the 3rd estate was 97% of the population they were peasant farmers. <br><br>And cause #3 Financial difficulties. They were in debt because the king and queen spent money on the palace of Versailles.</div>]]></description>
