under 150 pages
I read an electronic pdf of this novel of unnamed setting and characters - a parable applicable to any/all; it is a story that left me thinking for sure- about the human condition and bias, instinct, spirit, hopelessness, hopefulness, and so much more. I am wondering: might it be true that no matter the circumstances, there will always be the best of humankind present...and there will always be the worst? Always? Everywhere? *The style is a bit challenging - does not contain traditional punctuation - long complexly-written sentences and paragraphs - certainly a challenge.

New York Times bestseller
"We do not see things as they are, we see them
as we are." ~Anais Nin
This is my 3rd or 4th Kristin Hannah book, and although I did like this story, I enjoyed the others better. I truly loved the Southern humor in this book, and I could certainly identify with the nonchalant sister relationship - sometimes tacky, comical, and ultimately one of sacrificial love. As I was reading the novel, I kept thinking that it was a bit Hallmark-movie-like (although I do enjoy those some). As it turned out, I'm so glad I read it. :)
