Today is my first day doing a SIEP at Flora Place Hotel. For the first day, there a many things to do. The Human Resource (HR) department bring me for a short tour around the hotel before I starting the training.  
My first department is KITCHEN. The workers at kitchen department  give a short briefing before I do my job and I was excited to start the training. My tasks is to learn all everything in the kitchen and dining room.
 Today I learned how to clear the utensils  and arranged the  utensils according the type.  There are many types the utensils at this kitchen.

It is my second day here at Flora Place Hotel. For this day, I am still working at kitchen department. Kitchen is on the fifth floor of the hotel building. 
For the second day I was training at here, I learned how to wash the kitchen utensils properly. After the guest done with the meal, I will collect the equipment to be taken to the kitchen for washing. Next, I will wipe all the utensils with using the clean towel. I practice all the knowledge that I have learned before this like how to wipe the utensils properly. I wipe all the utensils according a correct steps. There are several steps for wipe the utensils. Hands can not touch the utensils while wiping.
Kitchen utensils should always be cleaned to avoid any possibility like food poisoning.
 Hygiene is a priority when in the kitchen and we should follow the rules. All employees need to be neatly dressed and clean while they are in kitchen.

Today is my third day here at Flora Place Hotel and i was assigned to clean the kitchen. 

For the third day, I learned how to clean the kitchen properly. After the chef is done to cook, the kitchen area need to be cleaned immediately.
I will wipe around the kitchen to clean dirt. Dirt such as spilled oil or spilled food should be wiped by using detergent. If the dirt is not washed immediately, the dirt will be sticky and hard to clean. 

 Utensils also need to cleaned. The place of cooking need to be wiped with a clean towel. After the cooking process is complete, the kitchen floor should be swept and dipped.

It is my fourth day here at Flora Place Hotel.  For this day, I was assigned to do housekeeping department. I was do the housekeeping checklist in every each of the rooms that need to be tidy up.
As a practical student at here, I was given guidance by housekeeper during I did the job. 
I was given a checklist paper which contain row and column with every type of room names and I need to recorded it down for each of the room that had been tidy up. For example, I need to make sure that there are enough bath towel and hand towel in every each of the room. There are also provided mineral water, tray, hanger, glass, cup, spoon, plate and sugar tray.
Today  I learned how to do record in the housekeeping checklist by using observation in order to meet the customers need.

Today is my fifth day here at Flora Place Hotel. I was assigned to record the number of towels, pillows covers, sheets and handkerchief. After the customers check out, all the dirt items will be collected. After being collected, the items will be sent to the laundry. 

Before the items sent to the laundry, I had to count the number of items will be wash. The amount sent should be equal after it washed. All the amount will be recorded in the check list's book. 

 This hotel don't have laundry. So the dirty items will be sent to another laundry by the worker. After all the rooms check out,  dirt items will be sorted, counted and delivered to the laundry.

How are you today? Today is the third day at housekeeping department. I feel so excited to learn more about this hotel. For this day,  I was assigned to do the bedding in each different rooms. There are several types of rooms such as Deluxe Double, Family Deluxe, Standard Triple, Standard Double and Standard Twin Room.
My supervisor bring me to each of the rooms and explain how to do the bed making with the right steps. There are several steps to make sure the bed looking neat. 
The size of the bed in each room are different size, in that case the standard procedure to do the bedding of each room are also different.
Today I learned on how to do the bedding the right and proper way in order to satisfy the guest need and want.

Today I learned more how to tidying up the rooms. After I do a bed making which is change the bed pillow sheet, I move to the desk where we need to make sure that the coffee making set are complete. In a tray, it should have nescafe sticks, coffee mate, sugar and tea. Not only that, the mineral water also provided. 
Beside that, the desk, table and any surface also need to be clean up.
After the room was cleaned, the room need to be vacuum and mop. Every room should always be clean from dust and dirt. before we do a tidying up the room,window should be open.

On my eight day at this hotel, I was assigned by The Human Resource manager to help her to organize all the file. There are a lot of files. The files from the previous year from different organization. 
This file contains information about the organization that have link to the hotel. Organization that have linked with this hotel like travel agencies, MAHA, City Link Bomba and many more. 
The first thing that I need to do was to find the file and match them together according to their organization. After that, I tied all the file that has been organized using the rope and placed it to the rack. 
Today I learned how to do the failing process.

Its is my nine day here at Flora Place Hotel. Today I was assigned to clean the meeting room. This morning, one company which is Imaxx Service Plus Sdn Bhd was booked the meeting room in this hotel. This hotel had one meeting room. 
This meeting room has a large desk and 12 seats that can accommodate 12 people at one time. In addition, the room has a LCD. 
Before the guest come, the room should be cleaned first. Tables and chairs need to be wiped with a wet towel. The floor needs to be swept and dipped.
Mineral water, memo and pens are provided in the meeting room.

Today is my last day here at this hotel. I was so happy because I have been able to complete my Siep for 10 days at here.
Today I learned how to deal and communicate with customers. The way to communicate with customers is very important.  The hotel should ensure that the customers always feel comfortable during their stay at this hotel. 
We need to communicate in the right way with customers whether in front of customers or by phone. 
According the employees here, most customers make booking through the online. As a receptionist, we must always smile and be friendly.
After that, I learned how to make a booking online and list of customers who wanted check in, check out and guest in house.
