It has been used in may case against the creators of video games that they cause violence and on example of this is Doom and the Columbine High School Massacure where two teen Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed 12 students. In eric harris notes he said "Doom is so burned into my head my thoughts usually have something to do with the game" and was planning to make levels that where similer to the high school for the game but no record of them remain. Doom was often sighted as a cause for the boys actions but no direct link could be found. So it is often claimed that it was insperation and not a direct cause.

Link to source: https://doom.fandom.com/wiki/Columbine_High_School_massacre
