Like William H. Seward the secretary of state from 1861 to 1869. Also John Quincy Adams who was an American statesman who served as a diplomat, United States Senator, and a member of the House of Representatives.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Bailey vs Alabama<br>Bailey was an African American from Alabama who agreed to work for The Riverside Company for one year at $12 per month. He received an advance of $15. After working for a little over a month he stopped work but did not refund any money. The question was if Bailey was guilty for not refunding the money, The outcome was that the court&nbsp; required that person to work rather than be found guilty of a crime.</div>]]></description>

It was not sent to the people for ratification but just passed by the legislature. Two years after that by 1900, that 130,000 African American voting bloc had been reduced to 5,000 votes. It should've counted for the 130,000 African Americans that voted instead of 5,000.</div>]]></description>
