The Stimulus itself.

The stimulus originally was more debatable than the first. Some of the group saw it as a car chase while it was also seen as the result of a drunken night turned wrong. In addition it was seen as the pure paranoia of a person. Due to the split ideas all of them were taken into account.

When we were figuring out how we would work it out we faced a couple of bumps. As the feel of the song was dark and eerie we had to some how incorporate a rap into it. This lead to the split idea of personalities. As a female singer, I represented the female in the picture facing paranoia and the alcohol kicking in. Leaving the rap at the start to be the point of view from the person in the truck. The guitar had been established very early on and that then lead to the drums which were played around with a little bit before having the final result.

For the Performance

For the performance the layout of the song starts with the dark feel of the guitar using minor chords to create the eerie feel. Then soon followed by the simplistic low drums at the start. The drums were the high hat and the bass drum to allow the simplicity. Shortly after the toms join in and this crates a fill fro the high hat. Then as well as alteration from the toms and high hat, thre snare and crash also join in. This introduced the dynamics. It had use of dynamics. The dynamics felt right to use due to the different frames of the story board. The start we are unaware of the situation and as it continues through the board the louder the dynamics show how the feelings of the female escalate very quickly and suddenly. The simple but eerie feel at the start show the feelings of the male as he knows what is going on and is trying to process. It also comes across as though we can tell the feel of his heart as he is unafraid of the following events. Where as the sudden build up shows the feelings of the female. The final section of the song has quite a sudden cease to the music and this leaves a cliff hanging feel which represents the very last frame of her just looking in the mirror waiting to see what happens.

Feedback As Well As Strengths And Weaknesses.

The feedback was conflicted in certain parts. As feedback was given we were told that it was a good merge of different styles. At the start due to the solo of the guitar it was said it sounded a little distorted but then balanced out nicely with the company of the drums and the rapping. This was helpful however it was also said the guitar was also slightly too loud. This helps as it allows us as a group to be able to figure out the correct and preferable levels to best suit the vocals as well as an even balanced sound for individual instruments. Person feedback, that was agreed with, was that the combinations of the different genres we had. As a rapper the general back ground is to rap and have usually an upbeat temp, where as this was quite a slow tempo to rap to but yet still managed to very well. When the singing began the lyrics portrayed the feeling as they should have.

The song itself could very well be used in other situations if developed. The story behind it is a very common case of someone drying home after drinking, these cases anything can happen. The song also reaches out to multiple people as there is more than one type of genre in the sing. Including the rap side among also singing. As the fusion of the rap and the rock/metal feel are not very well known this means that it can attract the two genres together. Both rap and rock/metal songs are very good at getting a message across and therefore I believe this could be a good way to use this particular song for a different but also good use.
