Strategy: RAFT (Role, Audience, Format, Topic)

Why? This strategy encourages critical thinking, gives students a purpose for writing and encourages students to write creatively and view topics from different perspectives. It also gives teachers the opportunity to assess student strengths, weaknesses and misconceptions about a topic.
