Ok so this Module has most information about the beginnings of what we need to know about Management. To myself it was actually a very eye opening experience in what I thought I knew. I had heard of the name Steve Jobs before but I had never heard about him being such a bad people person. I knew that Apple must have loved him because he helped them flourish during the recession and beyond that. This whole section was important to me on a personal level. If I am ever put in a management role in a job I would hope to even be able to do half as well as Steve Jobs. That being said I would much rather be a great manager and be one that the people under me actually liked. I would hope that I can bring out the best in my employees without being seen as a maniacal tyrant.

I would not call these the greatest films of all time but they were enjoyable and I wanted to finish them.

It surprises me that though c research shows us that having a diverse workforce from top to bottom most companies do not heed this information. Why do they continue to not have women or other minority groups in positions of management? Are they under qualified? Or are their just not many women and minorities who inspire to be at those levels?

I live in an area of town where you can find people of every single color. It doesn't bother me because I see the person not the skin. But yet you have people who will still treat others badly because of how they look. Just like work companies even if they know better will still not diversify because of people who are prejudice. It's wrong but still continues to happen.

This article I have found talks about what I believe to be a horrible practice of any HR department. To rank people I totally understand and have no problem with it. But to have quotas that each must be in is totally uncalled for and not morale. Good people did not their get due and its a horrible practice.
http://www.independent.ie/business/can-bad-human-resources-practices-kill-a-company-28825883.html

Leadership, its a concept that gets thrown around to easily. Everyone thinks that a manager is automatically a leader. That's just not true. You can be a great manager and a horrible leader and vice versa. They are similar but also two different concepts. Like apples and oranges. Both are fruit but a different kind of fruit. To me it resembles a good example of the differences.

So this is another article that is based on movies. It shows famous movie leaders who in real life would be absolutely horrible. I found it to be funny and yet thought provoking. You may think someone is a great leader until they are your leader. http://www.cracked.com/article_18594_6-iconic-movie-leaders-who-arent-fit-to-lead-parade.html

Here is what I believe is the truth. To be the best manager and leader you need to listen to your people. I believe that even the best people get fired because of lack money being made but it does not mean they are a bad manager. The best people I have worked for I would if they ask give them a recommendation even though they were my boss. One of them even fired me but she was such a good manager and leader that I would firmly believe if she got fired it was due to just numbers and not lack of ability on her part.

Production. Production can mean many things. It could mean the amount of products that you are making, distributing, or processing and delivering to customers or other stores. It could also mean in a service type department could mean the amount of service calls fielded or people helped in a certain period. It all depends on what field you are in but every jo has a certain level of production associated with it. It's a managers job to make sure that the production levels are where they need to be for the company to thrive.

This is a movie I have very much enjoyed. The business in the movie is a toy company. While you wouldn't think about it they had production in the sales department and obviously at the warehouse where these toys were made. And then the toy store it self has production values based on the amount of toys that they sell. Everywhere you go there can be a reference to production of some type.

The concept of controlling is a very important one. Basically it means everything that must be done to ensure that an event occurs as it was planned to occur. This could be from a fun company picnic. To something like adding a new product line into the production process or slowly taking a product out of rotation. Helpfully everything will go as planned and most good managers are able to make sure this happens. When it doesn't those same managers need to think on their feet to make sure that things go back to plan as quickly and non disruptive as possible.
