Ans: Since COVID there has be a reluctance from employers to offer large scale Work Experience opportunities. There is an opportunity at the end of the year when Year 10s finish two weeks early, to take part in self organised work experience, speak to Mr Lang, Mr Baker or Ms Sant about how this could work.

Ans: Wherever possible we use resources that are up-to-date from federal and state agencies. We also tap into TAFE, RTOs, Unis. and other providers to keep up with the current and emerging courses and industries.

Ans: Not everyone who is able to take 7 subjects will take the opportunity. Some will take all 7, some will drop a subject. Your ATAR is calculated using your top 5 subjects, so doing 7 gives you further chances to get higher marks in your top 5 subjects.

Ans: Not at Kedron, however there may be options to study these via external providers or TAFE. Best thing to do is to go through the Kedron VET office.

Ans: It would be too expensive and difficult to get all 250+ students there, with staff, so we have looked at other ways to offer similar (Careers networking talks and ex-Kedron students coming to talk about careers) opportunities at school. Previously we have done an Expo at Kedron but providers, employers and Tertiary institutions are under increasing pressure to staff these opportunities so we have moved away from this model.

Answer: The Maths subjects on offer in Senior - General, Methods and Specialist (a companion subject with Methods - you can't do Specialist unless you are doing Methods) offer all the challenges that you would need. Specialist will cover higher level Mathematics that you would need in Engineering and Finance degrees.

Ans: The expression of interest process for Engineering will be explained to the students later in the term.
