Right now Oxfam is fighting against something called Tax Havens, this are places where rich people hide amounts of their money, but they are fighting against this because the gap between the rich and the poor keeps getting bigger and bigger in the world and this Tax Havens is what is allowing this gap to increase so that is why Oxfam wants to put an end to this and is making its campaign called “Iguales”

Its major achievements so far have been:
-In Zambia, 128,000 school children are receiving an education thanks to Oxfam because they supported the children with both books and uniforms
-Thanks to the campaigns done in Pakistan by Oxfam, around 42,000 women had raised up their voice and demanded their rights
Thanks to the new improved flood defences Oxfam built in Haiti, 83,000 people is now less vulnerable to natural disasters

current project: The OECD Development Centre is carrying out a three-year project, co-funded by the EU Thematic Programme on Migration and Asylum, on the interrelations between public policies, migration and development. The overall objective of the project is to enhance the capacity of partner countries to incorporate migration into the design and implementation of their development strategies, through a better understanding of the links between sectoral policies and migration. The project is based on ten country studies in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

current projects: From October 2014 through September 2015, UFE led workshops and trainings for 2,329 participants in 13 states and Ontario, and 115 people from 28 states downloaded training materials from our website for use in high schools, colleges and universities and labor education programs. Our most popular workshops are “The Growing Divide” and “Closing the Racial Wealth Divide.”

UFE finished it’s strategic plan with a renewed commitment to raise up the voices of low wage workers.
hey led a workshop at White Privilege Conference in Seattle. The Popular Economics Education team hosted a Texas Training of Trainers. In January of 2013, UFE publishes its annual State of the Dream report highlighting U.S. housing policies that deepened the racial wealth divide over the past 50 years.

The 1 percent of the families in the united states had a 25 times higher income than the other 99 percent.
