Interact with the audience

• I tried to keep high energy throughout and I wanted to get the audience more involved and engaged with the performance throughout so in rehearsal I came up with getting the audience clapping during the small sections I don't play and it worked out pretty well!

Keep playing through mistakes

• I slipped up a few times in the first and last song but I made sure they weren't noticeable as I kept playing and I think I did a good job of not getting frustrated or making a face I just kept going and worked around wherever I slipped up.

Stage presence

• Whenever I play bass I naturally like to have a bit of a boogie and I always find bands who shimmy about and move around and really get stuck into the music captivate me much more and really get me feeling the music too, so whenever I was on stage I naturally had to move around a bit without making it too over the top and that really helped me feel the rhythm and enjoy playing. I particularly liked looking at the the audience as i like to feel connected to them. I think I did well on this front as well as I actually had quite a few compliments from fellow classmates who watched my band play and they all mentioned how much I looked like I was having a blast and that helped them get into the music.

Technique\overall playing abilities

• I came to college my main instrument being guitar and not bass and I hadn't picked up my bass in a while before attending college so being put into the shoes of a bassist was pretty intimidating and I think I did not too bad but that did mean my overall playing abilities were not the greatest and I did practice in my meantime but certainly could have done more

overall great performance and I love my band we all did well and put on a good show and played well, my team working skills definitely improved and my awareness of others has improved, but I could've refined my playing more through a bit more practice but within the timeframe I think I did well.

here's some things I wish i did better,

adding more layers to it

• I know we didn't need to go all out and do a full perfect cover of a song but I think it would have been nice to have added a little more to it.

  but to be fair I think keeping it simple was also good in. way that it made it easier on us, especially Jason as he worked on the looping and such on his own time himself.

time keeping project wise

• as we were off for a week Jason agreed to finish the looping and finishing touches at home as he has logic and id keep in contact with him for ideas and updates as I couldn't make my way into college to use logic and we agreed on this. I thank him for this but I think we left it a bit close and he didn't send me the bounce file for this assignment till last night so I think if we finished it earlier and didn't start over (as we originally started making an original song) we could've avoided this issue.

overall I think the cover is nice and I managed to work logic well and understand how to use the technology with Jason in college, but I could have manged our time better and avoided issues.

We al had personal attachments to each making them easier to discuss and felt more meaningful.

Then we also discussed our individual roles in the band because we felt it was each our individual responsibility to discuss our own personal role as we most likely know most about our own thing.

Nadz came up with the idea to make the presentation on canva which was brilliant as we could all access it and add our own little things.

I tried to add in sounds I had recorded on my phone the previous week as I sent into myself on teams but they don't sound quite right as there's just random background noises that don't fit into the movie. Next week I will try and fix them as ive got some re recorded sounds which I think might work better. But maybe if I get background noise for the whole film they might blend in better.

I found that adding the background noise definitely helped a little but I don’t think I should have it playing for the whole duration of the movie and I am thinking of cutting off the background sound for the ending scene when he uses the black hole to steal the money and gets stuck to add more dramatic effect, and I have some music for that scene so it might help emphasise the music more.

what I could've done better in

2. . Being more thorough in research

I struggled with getting all then work done in one single class which would very much help me as if I end up having to do it at home or in my own time I completely forget and struggle to find the time to do it as I'm always very busy every week outside of college. Next time I will make sure to get the work done in class before it needs handed in so I for sure get it done and don't forget.

I did quite spectacular adjusting the songs in standard tuning to fit my strange bass tuning since aint it fun could only be played in a certain tuning. I did struggled but I realized that it was actually easier than I thought to do.

1. . double checking my amp settings were correct in the live pref

for next time I will make sure I actually adjust the amp settings before my band starts playing instead of forgetting and winging it with what was already on the amp as this was a stupid idea and ended up with my bass being super quiet even with all my bass volume knobs up.

I did much better working alone as last time I worked with Jason which didn't go amazingly as we are both good friends and struggle to keep focus, but I made sure to ask my classmates and friends for help when I needed so I don't try carry on myself when I forget something.

3. . Keeping within a deadline even if I’m busy outside of college

I struggled to add sounds as I was off a few times and struggled to meet the deadline and I planned to do it outside of class but I never find the time to do it at home as I train for swim 8 times a week multiple times a day so I get tired and when I have time usually end up sleeping and resting. Next time I will try harder to get stuff done in college rather than at home as this doesn't go well and I struggle to get the work done, getting it done during my college days would assure I have time to work.

Working as a group isn’t always seamless. Ideas clash, and sometimes my parts get overlooked, but those moments teach me when to speak up and when to adapt. The best breakthroughs usually come when we stay open to each other’s ideas and let the song evolve naturally.

What keeps me invested is the feeling when everything finally clicks — when the groove settles and we all fall into the same musical space. Being the bassist in that moment feels like being the glue that holds the song together. Each new track reminds me why I love creating music with these people and how much I grow through the process.

while technical things like on logic isn't my strong suit I quite enjoyed this as it made a lot sense to me and I really understood what I was doing.

I quite enjoy doing this type of stuff on logic in my own time when I try record my own songs so I felt I knew what I was doing more because of this too.

The only thing I really struggled with was getting frustrated when it wasn't sounding like I wanted it to and basically constantly tweaking things throughout a whole day.

I felt like I did a good job on this and I enjoy how it sounds also the song is now stuck in my head haha

Next time I do a solo performance I will practice certain hard bits individually opposed to just playing the whole song through tons of times as I think that could help me get those bits down more, also with doing this, this should also help my nerves but I do have a weird thing with being watched when I'm by myself so I need to try things to soothe those nerves I think I might try the methods I use before my swim competitions as it affects me then too.
