I was able to get the students to work on various campaigns and projects related to different topics. They were proud to showcase their work on various boards on campus.

Keeping the structure of PSHE lessons the same would really help. The projects helps students get creative while learning and they get to own the process.

I will continue to follow the structure and also have the students lead the process even more. They seem to show more curiosity in areas they choose as opposed to areas I pick for them to delve into.

We completed one unit each half-term, with children engaging in group work and discussions. They enjoyed exploring the theme of friendship, writing their own short plays as well as creating posters promoting online safety.

It is essential that PSHE lessons provide time for circle time, such as discussions, debates and role play. Equally important is giving time to address children's personal concerns and incidents that may arise both in school and at home. To support this, flexibility is key - even if it means that, at times, there won't be a tangible end product or only a short one.

Time is an issue. Projects often take longer than expected. It would be great to give children's work more purpose, such as performing their short plays for younger students in the school.

I agree with Eleanor, at times, it may work better to have PSHE in larger blocks than in short 40-minute weekly lessons. Next year, I will try this out.

PSHE supports children's holistic development. Sharing ideas and approaches among staff would be helpful.
