Bursa Erkek Lisesi originally started as "Bursa İdadiyesi" and adopted its current name in 1924, aligning with the educational reforms of the Republican era. Lessons are in the morning, from Monday to Friday. They start al 7.52 and finish at 13.40.

We have lunch at home. In the afternoon we can join some free extracurricular clubs like:

“Art and Making”, “ICDL”, music courses, sports courses, courses for Cambridge exams (KEY and PET), Latin, remedial courses and many others.

Projects like eTwinning are carried out in the morning, during curricular classes.

We start school in mid-September and finish at the beginning of June.

Şükrü Şankaya Anatolian High School aims to raise individuals open for improvement, learned to learn, with effective communication skills, productive, creative, self confident, entrepreneurial, inquisitive, having national, moral and global values and distinctive skills to meet the need for qualified labor of society. It keeps working with this awareness and responsibility by following the  latest developments to keep up with the times. For that purpose,  the school has been modernized with latest educational technologies and staff training activities have been provided.

Our cooperation approach is based on the strategy of “win-win”. Partner anticipation and needs of institution are determined compatibly with strategies and collaboration to support the process of vision is done.

Ministry of National Education, Provincial Directorate of National Education, District Directorate of National Education, Parent-Teacher Association are some of our main collaborators.

Yeşim Textile Company has constantly sponsored our school for investments, by cooperating in social, cultural and scientific activites and sharing its experience and knowledge in the process of development.

District Governorate Of Osmangazi, Municipality of Bursa and Municipality of Osmangazi, several civil society organizations are also some of our main collaborators.

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE

As ŞŞAL is a project school, an advisory board has been established to guide the school management .

The Advisory Board consists of two members of the alumni association, two instructors related to a project or training acivities, an official representative of the person or instutitions that named after the school, the  president of the PTA, the student representative, a vice-principal selected by the school principal and two teachers elected by the council of teachers.

There are 27 classrooms and in each of them we have got an interactive white board and

a PC. The subjects we learn are Italian, English, Spanish, French, Art, Music, ICT, History,

Geography,Citizenship, Science and Maths. Each class has P.E. twice a week.

Religious Education is another subject of the timetable, but it is not compulsory.
