I used the auto modes on the camera, which resulted in a wide depth of field. I found it challenging to get a photo that wasn’t “soft/blurry” because of the glass.

Editing-

In Photoshop, I increased the contrast and changed the saturation so it appears warmer. The linear texture in the rock behind the lioness seems to draw attention to her eyes in the edited photo. I pushed this further by increasing the lightness of her eyes with an adjustment layer and a mask. 

I applied a gaussian filter to the background (and masked out the foreground) to soften the details and create a more shallow depth of field.

I wanted the mini hallway thing to be able to have some leading lines and the red structure to be a natural frame to the middle of the photo. I wanted the foliage to be where the viewers eyes fall. I was in a room that was naturally lit, so I had to try and adjust the exposure while I was taking the photo so the light was not affecting the focus of the shot. I did not use a certain mode on my phone except for when I slightly adjusted the exposure and changing my phone to hold it in landscape format. 
Editing
In Photoshop, I first changed the exposure to be a bit darker because the natural light in the photo was still pretty powerful. I also increased the contrast so that eventually I could make everything a bit sharper and darker than the middle portion of the photo. I then used Levels and made the whole photo darker, then used the brush tool to remove the Levels from the middle portion to make the foliage brighter. I didn't want to make this look too powerful though, so I then made the exposure just slightly darker so that the whole composition matches. I then wanted to make the colors a bit brighter because I had done so much to make everything darker, so I increased the saturation using hue/saturation. I used my phone on normal mode and didn't adjust the lighting. I found it challenging to get a picture while the penguins were moving  because of my phone camera.

I made sure the star was centered so that it would be the main focus of the photo.
I used the auto modes on the camer, this gave me the ability to show the smallest details on the plants. It was difficult to not get too much glare from the star since it was originally white.
Editing-
In Photoshop I increased a green tint on the entire photo to make the plant life seem more alive, it also highlights the smaller textures of the plants. I made the star pink to have it pop even more, which draws attention to it. I did this by adding two adjustment layers and using hue and saturation and painting a color in the "light" mode.

Editing-

In Photoshop, I increased the contrast and changed the saturation so it appears that the water was brighter. I added curves and levels to draw attention to the seals eyes and the rain in the back in the edited photo. And I added more brightness to its face so you could see it clearly. And finally I added more contrast to make the picture more clean so you could make out that it is raining.

I was in the sunlight, but my subject, the tree, was in the shade of another tree. I used auto mode on the camera which enabled me to take a wider photo while still getting the tree to be in focus. It was difficult to get only the tree in focus without focusing on the fence or the grass.
In Photoshop, I first used the blur tool to make the background even more out of focus. Next, I increased the saturation. I then created a layer mask and made the entire picture black and white. Then, using another layer mask, I used the brush tool to paint the tree and the pine needles back into color. I then increased the hue and saturation again but only enough where it still maintained a natural looking color. In Photoshop, I first started by making the brightness of the photo lighter because the lighting inside the zoo was horrible. When I did that I was able to see the lions face more and make it the focal point of the photo. I then made the lion a little more vibrant because it was too dull and meshed the with background too much, so when I made the vibrancy higher, It brought even more focus to the lion. I then used the sharpen took a little bit over the lion because it was a little blurry and wanted to bring it to life more. I focused my phone camera which resulted in a very focused picture with the background. This photo has a deep depth of field because you can see the penguin perfectly as well as the background being detailed and focused. 
In photoshop. I decreased the exposure and contrast of the photo so because the natural light was consuming the animals, so I tuned it down so you could see the penguin better. In photoshop. I increased the contrast and darkened the photo, but used a mask to exclude the lion so it would be brighter than the background. I also increased the hue and saturation of the animal so it would seem less gray and boring than what it was before. I also used the curves adjustment to further enhance the animal to attract the viewers eye to it. After that, I edited the background a little bit and fixed up the plants in the background by using hue and saturation. I focused my camera on the water and the reflection so you could see what was happening in the reflection. When I edited, I brightened the chair and everything in the background to really emphasize the difference between the reflection and the original image. This caused the photo to be very soft. When Editing I duplicated the background layer so I could then created a layer mask of the photo. After creating a layer mask on another layer I went back to the original layer and darkened the image, ads well as lowered the exposure. The goal of this was to darken everything around the green snake to create contrast. after darkening the background I created a clipping mask on the layer with the layer mask. This clipping mask would be to increase the vibrancy of the green snake to push the contrast even further. Two: the lighting the enclosure had was very unnatural, this created a very unwanted cold look which was hard to fix. In editing, I created a layer mask of the snake and then inverted it. Inverting the layer mask allowed me to edit the surrounding area around the snake. When editing the area around the snake I focused on trying to make the snake's habitat look less cold. This meant darkening the image to mute the cold unnatural lighting coming from the top as well as changing the color balance to cater more towards a warmer look. After that, I created a new layer and layer mask. This layer mask was focused on the snake itself. I made the snake brighter than the background as well as adjusted the saturation to fit the new brightness of the snake. In photoshop, I made it black and white by getting rid of saturation and darkened the picture by lowering the brightness. I increased the contrast to make the lines the back a bit more defined and for the lights and darks of each rain drop stand out more. I also lowered the brightness and exposure of the photo to make it look darker. The lighting in the enclosure was very soft, this made the lizard look too bright. To combat this I tried adjusting the lighting of the background, But the image still seemed to be washed out. So I then adjusted the brightness and exposure of the lizard. This worked well because the lizard was black and changing the brightness didnt rely have any negative effects. there was a green reflection from the plant bouncing onto the lizard's back and I didn't really like that because it sort of took away from the feel of the image. Before coloring it in I tuned my saturation and lightness down, lightness 1/4 the way down and saturation at about 28. After coloring in the egg I thought it would be cool to do an Easter theme. This time I did hue and saturation yet again, however, i turned the hue down to -128 saturation up to 20 and lightness down to -22. This made the birds nest and night lighter purple. Since ants are very small, they probably cannot see very far, so I started with making the background blurry. Next, I turned down the hue and the saturation to make the colors not pop as much and create a simpler look. Next, I messed around with the color balance for awhile until I found a color that looked natural for this photo. This picture was originally very good but the water was a lot more vibrant in color than the person. I fixed this by creating a layer mask and turning down the vibrance, brightness, hue, and saturation all at once. Next, I used an adjustment layer and used the brush tool to paint back over the subject. I did this for brightness, hue, saturation, and vibrance in the end. I used the auto modes on the camera, which resulted in a kind of middle depth of field. I found it challenging to get the bird in frame when it was about to fly away

In Photoshop, I increased size of the bird and changed the saturation very slightly to make it warmer. the attention drawer is the sticks (leading lines) leading to the bird. 

I applied the cloning stamp to a couple of the leaves to add more detail in the trees.
