Instructions for Students:

1. Choose a Topic:

   • Select an event or story that happened in the past. It can be a historical event, a famous discovery, a sports match, a personal experience, or even a made-up news story.

2. Research and Plan:

   • Gather key details about the event (Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?).

   • Organize your thoughts and create an outline for your news report.

3. Write the News Story:

   • Use the past simple tense to describe what happened. For example:

     • "Last week, a soccer match thrilled the city as two rival teams competed..."

     • "In 1969, humans landed on the moon for the first time..."

   • Include a headline and a short introduction (e.g., "Breaking News: Amazing Discovery!").

4. Illustrate the Story:

   • Find or create illustrations, images, or drawings that represent the news. This could be a photo of the event, a map, or something symbolic.

   • Make sure the illustrations align with the story's content.

5. Design Your Canva:

   • Log into Canva and select a template for a "news bulletin" or "poster."

   • Insert your written content and illustrations into the design.

   • Arrange the elements to make them visually appealing and easy to read.

6. Presentation:

   • Share your Canva with the class and read your news story out loud. Highlight the key points and explain your illustrations.
