My idea was an app/website that would allow markets to add their products and prices into the app, which would then allow users to compare prices/quality in the area around them. I think it ties into the class by allowing people of any community to easily and quickly find food options, especially healthy ones, when they might struggle to find these options otherwise

My idea was to create an app / website that would listen to nearby police radio frequencies and use NLP (Natural Language Processing) to transcribe the communications and then overlay in progress crimes onto a map similar to the citizen app or TU alerts. The main benefit of this system vs ones like citizen and TU alert is that it does not wait for someone to report that something is happening and instead goes directly to the best source of information about crime and then tries to relay this information to users in real time to best protect them wherever they go.

I realize that technology isn't the only answer to this issue and our lifestyles need to be changed. To create a website to show the effects of global warming, we put awareness to the issue. This was it can help communicate the pressing matter. The website can have all different topics of how we can help with global warming, in our everyday lives. It can also show how we are current projects and organizations are helping with global warming.

My idea is to create an application that tracks donations you make to tree planting charities and gives you information on the projects your money was used for. Instead of just donating and seeing the money disappear, doners will now be able to see exactly where, when, what, and how their money is being used to plant trees and reforest our world. This would give doners more of a sense that they're making a difference and will hopefully spur more donations and therefore more trees planted. One of the best ways we have of fighting climate change is planting trees so this will hopefully make a positive impact on the world.

My idea is one that is close and personal to me given my religious background. It is based on the genocide that is going on in Western China. I think one of the biggest issues regarding this matter is the lack of awareness that exists. Thus, my idea is to create a very well laid out website that highlights the issues of the Muslims in China, discusses the history of how all this came about, and finally allows there to be a space on the website where one can go and find ways in which they can help and support this cause. I think this would be super beneficial and would make spreading awareness regarding these issues significantly easier.

These results could be filtered by themes such as art and education. The app would also pull entries from google by using the city name as a search parameter.

Users who organize events could upload their own entries to raise their own turnout. Of course, Terms of Service would forbid terroristic or incendiary events, and the police would have access to all data on the app to keep neighborhoods safe.

Users would be notified when an event comes up within a certain radius from their location. Icons on the map could be colored to signify how much later or cheaper an event will be. Ideally, users would be introduced to opportunities they normally would be unaware of. The more people get and give to their communities, the more those communities flourish.

Not every place should have one, or need one, but places such as gyms and parks should have one in case of emergency.
As somebody with a heart problem and needing to carry an AED with me to baseball practice as a teenager, it was nice to know that if I went somewhere I knew I did not need to bring mine and knew exactly where it was located in the building so I could feel more comfortable in participating in physical activities.
It would also tell you the last time a place has got a new AED so you know if their equipment is reliable.
I think this is a good idea due to the fact that sudden cardiac arrest kills more athletes than expected each year due to underlying heart conditions, but with AEDs in the building, it could save a life.

Privacy online can feel impossible in a world which increasingly moves towards embracing digital processes. We sacrifice so much information across a wide variety of services, often without considering the risks to our own privacy. The concept I have thought of would be a tool to vet any given website and provide users with a privacy "score." This tool would also provide users with some more broad information on a company's data collection practices. If a particular service or company were to receive a low privacy score, the site could recommend some more privacy-friendly options.

Growing up in Philadelphia my whole life, I have seen the direct impact local politics have on my everyday life. Often times, those around me have complained about a number of things the city of Philadelphia could do better. An example that comes to mind is Philadelphia's notorious pothole problem. The streets are often neglected, and getting something done about it requires you to dial 311 and go through a ton of bureaucracy. My proposal is to streamline this system by allowing people to post about issues of public concern, and easily get this information sent directly to city officials. Obviously, pieces of legislation still must move through the city council's established process, but I believe that improving communication between residents and their representatives would allow for action to be taken sooner than later. This system could also host platforms such as discussion boards in which residents could post questions or concerns to generate change and action within communities between like-minded individuals who want to achieve progress in their neighborhoods.

My idea is an app that connects everyone in a local range with one another. This app would take your location/allow you to input your location and you will be able to make posts if you have something that you want to give away. Say if you order food from a food delivery app and they deliver the wrong food that you don't want to eat. You get your refund and instead of throwing the food away you can make a post in this app and someone who is in need can come get it off of you so that they can eat. Another example is if you are going to start a diet and want to get all of your junk food out of your kitchen, you can make posts on the app and help those in need that are in your community. I think that this app would help a lot of people who don't have the money to eat good consistent meals.

I can imagine a program that is implemented in public schools and maybe community outreach programs that will give people of these communities more exposure to Computer Science education and skills.

My idea is a bit controversial, however, I think it's an important one that needs to be addressed. Not everyone is fit to be a parent. There are countless news articles and stories about abusive parents, with some ending tragically to say the least. I believe that before having kids, you should understand what you're getting yourself into and pass a basic aptitude test. While this won't stop abuse altogether, it would certainly limit it a bit. Even when you adopt a pet, normally you'll have to fill a form out that acknowledges you're willing to take on the responsibility. There should be something similar to have kids. (PERHAPS instead of completely restricting the allowance of kids, the aptitude answers are kept on record to be used as a case against an abuser.)

My idea is to create a website that lists out responsibilities a parent should acknowledge and ask a few basic aptitude questions. I would make it super easy to navigate through, as well as make it educational.

Anything that you post online has the possibility of remaining on the Internet, in some capacity, forever. Children are also being exposed to the Internet at an extremely young age. Some even have mostly unrestricted access in early adolescence. In order to protect children from online predators, misinformation, and harmful content, we need to inform them of the dangers of using the Internet, and how they can navigate it responsibly.

My idea is to create a website to share the effects that crypto mining and other computing has on natural resources on earth. For example, recently there has been a massive global shortage of silicon. This is partly due to COVID, but also has a lot to do with the explosion of crypto mining. Silicon is the main element used in making semiconductors. It is also the main ingredient used in making graphics cards and other computing chips used in everything from microwaves to vehicles. Prices for silicon and semiconductors has skyrocketed since COVID started and the effect can be seen in every tech industry. Also it has had a massive impact in the overall global supply chain. The current massive demand for graphics cards to mine crypto has made it even harder for things to return back to normal.
The idea of this website is to bring awareness to the effects the crypto mining demand has brought. Also it will share information about different companies, and how they are dealing with the silicon shortage. Particularly companies that are widely known for having an issue getting semiconductors, like Sony with PS5, car companies, and other tech companies.
