My name is Heidi Coronado and I’m a native to Tucson. I’m currently an Instructor at the University of Arizona and have been teaching language courses at the UA for 10 years in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. In this department I completed an MA in Hispanic Linguistics in 2013. In the past 3 years, I have taught basic and upper-division language courses in the Online Program. During my Online experience, I have had the opportunity to develop online courses for both basic and upper-division courses in the last 2 years. Proudly, one of these courses has been certified by Quality Matters, while the remainder are in the scrupulous process of quality certification. The experience of developing of courses has embarked me in a journey of pedagogical and technical research to improve the quality and experience of online learning. I can add that during the pandemic of 2020, I was able to help other colleagues at an institutional level in sharing the knowledge gained from my research. It is rewarding to help colleagues transition successfully onto the online platform and I strongly believe in the sense of community both inside and outside of the classroom.
