I think after we shared the different areas that we are confused about while doing the project, we are both more clear now. I am glad to have this great opportunity to meet you at this TF SCALE 2022 programme. Even though we are both quite shy at the start, but once we got to know each other better , we were able to get along pretty well. 

Thanks for sharing to me so much about yourself and teaching me about your culture and imparting me with so much more knowledge. Indonesia is superrr interesting and amazing. I I hope to be able to keep in touch with you even after the programme ends or probably visit Indonesia during the holidays. I am truly glad to have gotten you as my buddy. Our 6 hour zoom meeting was very fun and knowledgeable as well. I learnt several things about Indonesia from you. It was great to learn about the lifestyle, food and most excitingly about Ramadan in Indonesia! 

It was also surprising to know that the practices that we have during Ramadan times are mostly the same. Sharing about the food we eat, Hari Raya routine and the culture was really nice to know!

We didn’t even realise the time passing by super fast. I hope you learnt more about Singapore through the meeting as well. Hahah it’s still funny that both of us were comparing the living costs in both countries and being shocked by the difference! 

It’s great to have made a new friend like you! All the best for the rest of the TF SCALE programme and hope we will stay in touch after that as well. Do visit Singapore when you can, and I will give you a tour around! Hahhaa, I’m now very excited to travel to Indonesia as well!!

I am happy to have known you as my buddy through this TF SCALE programme. Though at first it was hard to break the ice, after a while I’m glad that we were able to get along well with one another. Though our session was only about 1h 30 mins, I was able to learn numerous things about Indonesia from you that I had previously not known. 

The movie trailer that you shared with me about your favorite movie Interstellar made me want to binge watch it. Will watch it when I have the time, yeah!! As you know, my schedule is kind of packed, wkwkwk. I love how we both love anime and indomie (one of my favorite instant noodles). Additionally, I will be sure to watch your anime recommendations! 

I am also glad that you enjoyed my “tax lesson” I gave about Singapore. You were able to listen to me speak my opinions about Singapore, our government and our tax system for over 30 mins. Most people would be bored of me speaking on and on about our Singapore government and how it works, but you were engaged all the way. I hope you know about Singapore from the perspective of an ordinary citizen.

It was really cool to get to know you more, such as your favourite local celebrity (
Pandji Pragiwaksono) and the type of content you enjoy reading/watching! I like how we spent a long time trying to figure out the difference in our education system to the extent that we drew out timelines of our education journey, just to see why I only ended Polytechnic Year 2 and you were already in your 3rd Year of University when we are only 1 year apart in age HAHA! 

Thank you for the Bahasa lesson too! It was really fun learning new phrases that I could use during the meetings with the UGM students!! I love using "aman" and "semangat" HAHAH and I can tell your favourite phrase is "Jia you"! Hopefully the Chinese phrases I taught you will be useful for you in the future :')

These are only the key highlights of the call and we talked a lot more about many other things :) Just wanted to say that you are really really funny and super smart and very bubbly and fun to hang out with! :D Thank you for trying your best to speak in English even though you are not super fluent in it. Just remember to not be afraid to speak regardless as you actually are always full of good ideas and bring joy and spirit to the group :) AND REMEMBER TO TAKE BREAKS! I know you are always very busy and do not have much time to have hobbies, but remember to have some time to take care of yourself and rest!

One thing that I really like about you is your easy going vibe. You're a really chill person and I think that's why it's so easy to talk to you. I think the highlight of our conversation for me was when we were talking about what we wanted to get for each other. I remember me asking you what you wanted and you said, "I just want to go to Singapore". And that made me so uwu. Because it was such a pure and genuine answer which I did not expect. And I remember joking and saying I'll send you a ticket to come to Singapore HAHA. But seriously, I would send you a ticket to Singapore if I had money >.<.
