By making a personal fitness plan, students are engaging in an activity-driven lesson plan. Not only are they learning about proper fitness and activities to improve their fitness, but they are creating a program that will help them personally. For example, students could engage in an activity where they only record definitions pertaining to physical fitness and some aspects of it.

With the development of mandatory state testing, students in public school systems are being tested now more than ever. Curriculum is essential to guiding students through school and preparing them for college or a job. With this being said, tests have to be administered to show the progress of students and ensure curriculum is being taught and retained. State testing is now the measure of a student passing a grade and moving on. Various states vary in their policy of testing, however, all enforce some type of testing of the curriculum for each course.

As a class progresses through a semester, they are constantly building on each lesson previous. Curriculum is not only the content being learned, but a goal in which the class is hoping to accomplish at the end of a set time. The "finished product" at the end of the class is to have mastered the curriculum and lessons taught. And then in turn, curriculum is what will prepare students for post-graduate courses or a students' desired profession. With an optimistic mindset, students can set their sights on the end of the semester and fully grasping each aspect of the curriculum as a goal.

Throughout a course, students are required to go from lesson to lesson, learning bits and pieces of a big picture, which is curriculum. These bits and pieces is a process that consists of tests, lessons, activities, notes, and projects. Throughout the process, the curriculum embeds itself throughout all of those specific aspects of a class. Subconsciously, students begin to piece together the curriculum for a final goal, again, this is a process.
