Johnny saves Ponyboy by killing Bob "I killed him I killed that boy....... They might have killed you." [Ponyboy] (56-57)<br>2. Dally tells Johnny and Ponyboy to go to an abandoned church to stay. "There's an old abandoned church on top of the Jay Mountain." (61)<br>3. Randy tells Ponyboy he is sick of fighting "I'm sick of all this. Sick and tired. Bob was a good guy. He was the best buddy a guy ever had. I mean he was a good fighter and tuff and everything, but he was a real person too. You dig?"          <title>Loyalty/Sticking together </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>If people stick together then they can get through anything and support one another.<br><br>1: Even though Darry and Ponyboy do not get along sometimes, Ponyboy , Darry, and Soda always stuck together during the whole book.<br>"Since Mom and Dad were killed in an auto wreck, the three of us get to stay together" (3).<br><br>2: Johnny and Ponyboy after Johnny killed Bob.<br>"We gotta get outa here. Get somewhere. Run Away. The police be here soon" (57)<br><br>3:Dally and Johnny are the closest thing they have to family and they go to each other if they need anything. <br>"Dally," Johnny said with finality "Dally'll get us outa here" (58)<br><br>In the Outsiders by S. Ponyboy was there for Johnny after he killed Bob even though he could have just left him (p.63)<br>3. After Ponyboy came back home after running away with Johnny and the fire, he was feeling very sick so he told Two-Bit but he made him swear not to tell Darry about it (p.126)<br>In the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Ponyboy and the gang all showed loyalty to each other.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>What we learn from talking to one another, and what we learn from observing other's actions gives insight in characters, dispelling notions of who we think people are and replacing those with knowing who they really are.<br>1. If you look at Ponyboy, you see a greaser and a thug, not somebody who loves to look at sunsets and read. (77)<br>2. People wouldn't think that these murdering greasers would&nbsp; put their lives on the line&nbsp; for other people but they do it without hesitating (77)<br>3. Socs don't always fit do what is expected of them. Randy loses is his best friend because of two greasers but he decides to do the right thing and doesn't fight in the rumble. (97)<br><br>Thesis: Not meeting the expectations isn't always a bad thing and <em>The Outsiders </em>by S.E. Hinton shows this with characters like Ponyboy, Johnny, and Randy.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It's important to remember to respect each person's individual personality, opinions, and actions, rather than grouping them together with others based on stereotypes and superficial observations such as clothing, hair, and other features that have nothing to do with character.<br>1. When Johnny and Pony are out with Cherry and Marcia, Pony put the together in his mind because they're Socs and they hang out together. He then realizes they are different based on their actions.<br>2. "JUVENILE DELINQUENTS TURN HEROES.<br>'What I like is the 'turn' bit,' Two-Bit said, cleaning the egg up off the floor.<br>'Y'all [Johnny and Ponyboy] were heroes from the beginning. You just didn't 'turn' all of a sudden.'" The reporters assume they are delinquents because of their clothing. even though they have proved they are unique, heroic individuals, their appearance leads the reporter to believe they are hoods.<br>3. "'He [Randy] ain't a Soc,' I [Pony] said, 'he's just a guy. He just wanted to talk.'" Pony realizes Randy is an individual with his own personal emotions, not just a member of a gang. He has a distinct personality, but Pony and the others don't see this until it was right under their noses.</div>]]></description>

Johnny sees Bob's rings and kills him to save Pony from drowning.&nbsp;<br>"They had a blade they where going to beat me up" (57).<br>2. Dally killed himself right after johnny dies. (153)<br>3.&nbsp; The last example is when Pony does not accept that johnny is dead.&nbsp; (177)</div>]]></description>
