When Gatsby finally sees Daisy again, he is so unbelievably happy, and just seems lighter. We see this when Nick comes back into the room and expresses the difference in Gatsby in this passage: “But there was a change in Gatsby that was simply confounding. He literally glowed; without a word or a gesture of exultation a new well-being radiated from him and filled the little room.” he is so happy to have reconnected with Daisy.
