The Social Security Administration is an independent agency of the united states federal government that provides social insurance consisting of disability, retirement, and survivors benefits. The goal was to provide welfare for those who require it like the elderly or the disabled and also for public health and unemployment. The SSA failed and succeeded in many things but its successes highly outnumber the failures. The SSA was not responsible for federal funding since there has been no proof that the funding system has ever been changed. Not many people would be critical of the program since the money goes right back to a better cause or to them if something happens
