Rousseau dedicated this painting to the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the French Republic in 1792. This painting is of a peasant family sitting at the dinner table with a satyr. The man in the middle blows on his soup to cool it, then blows on his hands to warm them. Leonardo Da Vinci was commissioned to paint a panel that had the Adoration of the Magi as its subject, the celebration of the feast of the Epiphany when, according to St Augustine, all people respond to the call of Christ. Religion, celebration, and tradition are all very important aspects of culture and community.

The Broad
Obnoxious Liberals depicts a series of figures representing capitalism and its hapless, powerless victims. The exploited, corroded victim, on the one hand, is virtually held hostage by the minions of mainstream White American culture, as represented by dollar signs, cowboy hats, and Uncle Sam top hats as well as a "Not For Sale" sign. The victim's dark skin also hints at the systematic oppression of American black people. This is another aspect of community because people can relate to one another from their shared hardships and struggle.

The Broad
This painting depicts the extravagant build-up and anticipation of something great, then an inevitable ending to the ecstasy of the moment in the spotlight. "The Show Is Over" relates to the whole idea of society because the interaction that you have with someone will always have an impact on that person. Whether it's good or bad, the perception that people have of one another will always affect the community in one way or another.

This painting represents the love and courtship that a couple can share even if they're very different people. The man is clothed in dark rectangles and elegant swirls while the woman is clothed in small ponds of soft flowers. This shows that the fundamentals of different individuals but they can still be amazingly drawn together.

While it accurately describes the horrors of one hundred demons, it also shows the soft moments between the members of the community passing along the mythologies of the time in a fun way.
