yes i agree because of USA's strengths, such as its woman power, economic strength, its military and navy strength and its "island hopping" strategy.

USA was the largest producer in the word so USA's industry capacity was larger than Japan's so with any attack from Japan, USA would be able to bounce back and strike back with a greater force.Their factories could quickly switch over to military production to boost war efforts . In comparison Japan had limited .. so cannot match war production & would eventually be defeated?

Strong military power - elaborate and explain - not completely destroyed at PH attack, e.g. sea battles e.g. battle of midway, So what - link to explain

USA's island-hopping strategy helped recapture territories lost to Japan ans undermined war efforts and morale. The island hopping strategy is a strategy used by USA to gain military bases and secure many small islands in Pacific in WW2. They targeted islands not strongly defended by the Japanese so describe impact on Japan - how it helped to cripple Japan economy and war production as can launch attacks on mainland Japan. (aerial boming of mainland Japan)

Also, USA used the atomic bomb as a way to make Japan surrender. Japan strong insistence not to admit defeat was dampened when the atomic bomb, "fat man" dropped on Nagasaki on 9 august 1945. The bombing led to Japan's unconditional surrender to the allies on 15 august 1945. -So what , link to explain

Agree: Japan had a weak and ineffective defense due to its decision to overextend itself. (P) This helped led to its defeat in WWII because they cannot maintain a strong defense in the newly conquered territories. Its armies and navy were stretched too thinly which allowed the Allies to defeat Japan in key battles. This cost Japan many experienced military personnel and expensive equipment and ships that cannot be easily replaced, this further weakened Japan's ability to fight in the war. For example, the Battle of Midway ended in 4 Japanese fleet carriers sunk with over 3000 sailors and pilots killed and hundreds of planes destroyed. Prior to this battle, the Japanese had faced the allies at the Battle of Coral Sea which put 2 carriers out of operation and made them unable to participate at Midway. If Japan had not expanded itself to the Coral Sea, they would have not needed to fight in the coral sea and could have used those 2 fleet carriers at the Midway, potentially turning the tide of war. Thus Japan's decision to overextend itself helped contribute to Japan's defeat as they over-stretched their resources and fought the war on too many fronts. (WELL DONE )
Japan's to be blamed as well - strategic error - bombing Pearl Harbour - led to US involvement, did not fully destroy US pacific fleet , USA able to regroup and counter-attack e.g. battle of midway
Disagree: Japan should not be blamed for its defeat in WWII because it was the involvement of the US that should be blamed for its defeat as the USA was more powerful than Japan. (P) The USA was known as the largest industrial producer in the world during WWII period. Although it mostly produced consumer goods instead of military equipment, it was able to quickly convert their factories into producing military equipment. With the USA's involvement in the war, the Allied powers were able to create more advanced military weapons and have more resources, manpower and equipment to fight in the war in comparison to Japan which did not have as much resources and strong industries to match or outlast the Allies. Furthermore, The USA's large airforce managed to bomb the Japanese home islands and destroyed its industries which further weakened Japan's ability to continue fighting in the war, This shows thatwas bound to lose the war as it had a strong opponent and had a low chance of winning in the long run. (WELL DONE)
Defeat of Germany (P)- circumstances that Japan could not control. (P) elaborate on defeat of Germany and its impact on Japan

Final conclusion: weigh which is more important

No. I disagree because of USA's "island hopping" strategy, which recaptured key bases and islands in the Asia-Pacific region to Japan. The strategy helped USA to capture Iwo Jima and Okinawa, which weakened the Japanese economy (HOW? ) and their ability to sustain a long-drawn war without resources and funds as the Allies were able to consistently bomb Japan's industries in the mainland. Secondly, the economic strength of USA placed the Allies in a better position over Japan

The entry of USA led to the defeat of japan because of its economic strength.
USA was the largest industrial producers in the world at that time and could easily switch from goods for consumption to military production. This is evident in the many unemployed workers who were willing to work as opposed to the workers who were forced into labour in facist states. This means that being the biggest producers they had a lot of military power and resources to defeat japan.
Thus the entry of the USA led to the defeat of japan because of their economic strength. and in comparison - you must compare to Japan. So then can link to explain - with stronger military production outlast Japan in a long drawn war and eventually defeat Japan

The entry of USA also led to the defeat of japan in WW2 because of its military and naval strength. This is evident in the use of the three aircraft carriers of the pacific fleet in the battle of the coral sea and the battle of midway. This means that even though pearl harbor was attacked, USA still maximised what they had and retaliated. examples ? The retaliation weakened japan and showcased the naval strength of the USA This led to defeat of japan how link to explain?.
