Bird's eye view is a photograph taken directly down on an object. It can be an aeireal photograph, but also a drawing or map. It is mainly used for sports and documentaries, as you can show a view of everything from above or landscape in a single view. It is used in film making because it can show a a view from a high place, looking down and it is useful when you are trying to get a picture of a huge area. For example a picture of a city. It is also used for getting a science of something moving from a high angle. The benifits are that you can get a good view of everything if it far away or close up. The limitation is that it doesn't show much detail.

A High angle shot is a cinematic technique where the camera looks down on the subject from a Up high(high angle). High angle shots can make the subject seem weak and powerless when the shot is being taken from above. The limitations of the high angle is that it doesn't always get the whole area of the shot unlike the Bird's Eye view.

In cinematography, a low angle shot, is a shot from a camera angle positioned low, anywhere below the eye line, looking up. Sometimes, it is even directly below the subject feet. The effect of the low angle shot is that it makes the subject look strong and powerful. The benifit is that it can show something to be bigger than it actually is and it can also show strength. The limitation is that you can only really see up and not to the sides. So you see a limited amount.

An extreme close up shows extreme detail. You would normally need a specific reason to get this close up. It is too close to show general reactions or emotion except in very dramatic scenes. The benifits of using an extreme close up are that they can focus in on facial expressions and you can see lots of details of a person or image. The limitations are that you can only see a specific feature at a time.

Medium shots are used for dialogue sequences, and they allow the viewer to pick up on the character's movements and gestures.
