We need to have a policy about cyber bullying of staff by students! While it may not be "illegal", this district needs to, via policy, implement some protections for us. There needs to be serious consequences for students who obtain our photos, wet up fake sites, or go online and cyber bully us.

I would like to see some penalty for opening the gates. The one closest to the student parking lot has become a revolving door. Or maybe we can have an alarm? A security guard? Something? Since we have unwelcome guests on campus, some with weapons, this has become a concern. Why wait until something bad happens?

There needs to be some accountability beyond losing credit, as the students just see EDGE or Summer School as a means around that. Perhaps make it where Summer School or Edge are only available to those who attended and still failed?

I think we already have something in our discipline matrix for students not attempting to make sufficient academic effort. Some schools enforce mandatory tutoring when a student is failing. I'd like to see a structured Saturday School where kids have to clean the campus AND have to bring homework to complete. Sometimes, they just sit and do nothing.

We need a better plan for students who have lost credit and do nothing in class but disturb everyone else. Yes, I know we have security for major issues but it is not always a big event outside of distracting others. Can we create a "class" NC students can go to so they do not help others in the same class fail as well? I think this will also help deter students from hitting the NC mark so they do not have to change classes to something else like a "NC class". Maybe even a "class" that cleans up the campus and athletic facilities so they can be somewhat productive. This will also keep them in school and off the streets while stopping them from being disruptive... Sounds like a good idea to me...

I think we need to have a policy where students cannot recycle their work. This includes writing a paper in 9th grade and turning in the same one for credit in 10th grade. If they did this in college, it would be a form of plagiarism and an issue with academic integrity. When I try to enforce this, the students point out it isn't in the handbook.
