I  chose this excerpt because while reading this passage I quickly became infuriated. I was shocked at how inhumane and cruel the Nazis actions were, but it also seemed a little bit familiar form my Babcia’s stories that she used to tell me from when she was little. No, she wasn’t in the camps but she grew up around the same atmosphere as the Jews. This passage makes me wonder what other unspeakable things they have done that only the ghosts know. How did the mass extinction even come so far? I chose this passage because it really spoke to me. I was moved by this passage because this could be the last time our main character sees his mom and he doesn’t know it, but neither do the readers.
