5 main points
-Within the beginning of the story we begin to realize that whenever antony leaves to rome his life is a lot more calm than when he reaches egypt (which is where cleopatra is)
-Antony can not reconcile his two roles as a leader or lover. This is so important to me because he is always falling between the two which gives the unbalancing theme to the story.
-Antony wants to live up to the expectations of being cleopatras lover. He always tries to please cleopatra no matter what.
-Duo setting between Rome and Egypt
-Delicate egos from both Antony and Cleopatra display a strong character shift between both of them.

graphic idea
-I believe a snake would portray a perfect symbol for this story so far. Everything is so unbalanced and at such a setback that an image of a snake would idealy display this.

3 methods
-foreshadowing
-gender expectations
-loyalty and betrayal

Jennifer Pineda

Sasha Ascona, Period 8
* The graphic is a perfect representation of Antony and Cleopatra trying to figure out how to make everything in life balance perfectly. Even though there are many signs trying to guide them and warning them in what direction they go.

Methods:
* Symbolism
* Foreshadowing
* Irony

Main Points:
* When Antony requests to be left alone to the messenger as he is trying to pass a message on to him. It is the first time pushing his workers away, symbolizing where his priorities lie.
* Philo mentions that Antony is less of a man when he is in the presence of Cleopatra, when excusing his actions. Tired of seeing him do the same thing over and over again and of helping him.
* The placement of the soothsayer is done to foreshadow Cleopatra's death, without revealing too much information. It is a warning not caught by Charmian due to her joy in finding out her fortune is as Cleopatra's.
* The resemblance in the way Antony treated the messenger to the way Cleopatra does to them symbolizes Antony losing sight of himself and morphing into Cleopatra.
* Enobarbus, while intoxicated, foreshadows Cleopatra's death to Antony. Antony skipped that part and focuses on the rest of what Enobarbus' is saying almost as in denial but sort of in agreement.

Inability to keep balance

Main points-
*Line 70 (Act 1 Scene 3)- With the use of stage direction, the audience can depict there is a lack of trust in the relationship between Antony and Cleopatra. This shows the audience a lot about their relationship. What is love without trust?
*The first time he gets caught putting the messenger aside is when he is with cleopatra, and it shows the type of leader he is and also weakens him because it shows he puts Rome aside for her.
*Dual setting- through the switch of setting his position is emphasized,
we notice in Rome he is a fighter and a leader, however in Egypt he is a lover and becomes less of a man(leader idk) for cleopatra
*Death and dishonor- Of course Cleopatra had to die with dignity and honor, and so it shows how unbalanced they are when it comes to love. Her ego is high and it looks like Antony feeds off of it. She rather die as a leader than a lover to a leader. Also points out biblical allusions with the snake and how they can meet again quiet in piece without judgment in heaven.
*Line 104- points out Cleopatra drops her ways when he mentions, " I'll leave you lady" she shows the audience a different side of her trying to hold on to him after his statement, showing some love.

Together, the main points illustrate that both, Antony and Cleopatra, do not know what they want and how bad their wants will destroy their position as leaders.

Graphics~
A graphic that can illustrate the inability to balance love and power would be, a visual of them struggling to keep their image high, however, letting love get in their way.

Methods~
*Symbolism(SNAKE)
*Foreshadow(Soothsayer)
*Death and dishonor
*Dual setting
*Stage Direction(TRUST)
*Metaphor(line 120)
*Paradox
*No prologue

Gema Delgado
Period:08

Graphic: One sided balance, since Antony has trouble finding a balance between his love life and his duty as a king.
3 primary methods:
Duo setting
secondary characters
foreshadowing
5 main events:

In Line 34; "O,excellent! I love long life better than figs" foreshadowing takes place because at the end of the play, the snakes that came in the basket when Cleoptra kills herself were covered by figs.

The play commences with Philo further demonstrating the importance of secondary characters.

The messenger is the carrier of bad news and therefore tell Antony "the nature of bad news infects the teller." Antony then dismisses the messenger.

Antony admits he he in losing himself "in dotage", because he feels chained to Egypt, thus recognizing theres a problem with their relationship. His idleness has destroyed his country by loving the queen of Egypt.

Line 195-210

His followers become slippers because they are starting to love and support who they're not supposed to, but Antony is the only one to blame since he is not there for his people any more.

Ana Hevia
Period. 1
