                            California Statehood may be close due to the surge of people coming to the west]]> 2017-03-20 18:50:03 UTC https://padlet.com/404035/ennwtuia89cg/wish/161299974 What's going on 404035 https://padlet.com/404035/ennwtuia89cg/wish/161301572 The population has been growing so much it seems we may be applying for statehood fairly quickly due to the rush of people coming from across the globe to the west for gold.  Camps are filling up fast but be aware they aren't in best shape and are only for the fittest of the fittest. With the very hostile conditions, young men are the only sight here and stories of the harsh working conditions are the only thing you will hear, here in the camps. immigrants seem to be taking majority of the gold and seem to be treated very hostility from the Americans. If you are looking to come to the camps there are trails that people seem to take although none are favorable. 
  1.   Sail 18,000 miles around South America and up the Pacific coast suffering from storms, seasickness, and spoiled food. 
  2.  Sail to the narrow Isthmus of Panama, cross overland (and risk catching a deadly tropical disease), and then sail to California. 
  3.  Travel the trails across North America— braving rivers, prairies, mountains, and all the hardships of the trail (such as the California trail). 
But many have made the journey because the amount of gold here is astonishing and can make you a very wealthy person or a poor one. Competition in the camps are so high between the men to see who can find the most gold! So do you have it in you? Come to the West!
