Reason One - amazing sounds the park has

The first reason everyone should visit Glacier Bay National Park is because of the amazing sounds the park has. National Park Service quotes over the past several years there has been an increase of visitors to the park. The main reasons for the increase in visitors are the sounds but also the silence the park has. On a normal day, one can hear a vast variety of fascinating sounds. On a typical day, one might be able to hear a glacier crashing into an inlet of water, wolves howling, humpback whales calling, or hermit thrushes singing (National Park Service). Guide to the National Parks of the United States quotes when the glaciers hit the inlet of water it sounds like a cannon just went off (439). National Park Service states there are also human sounds. One can hear the crackle of a campfire, the moving water of a kayak paddle, and the water droplets ticking on the concrete. Glacier Bay National Park might be one of the best areas to hear the wild sounds of Alaska. One of the park’s most enchanted resources is the natural sounds. The sounds one hears at the park will forever be your most remembered part of the visit (National Park Service). The sounds of the park are one thing everyone should hear.

Another reason to visit Glacier Bay National Park is because of the amazing landscapes. National Park Service quotes the park is surrounded by beautiful plants called flora. The flora blankets the ground of the park and has balanced out the climax communities in the alpine and coastal regions. The park is home to sixteen tidewater glaciers, and in the bay there are twelve active calve icebergs. The glaciers at the park are what if left from the Little Ice Age. The Little Ice Age, what most of the glaciers from the park formed from began 4, 000 years ago (Glacier Bay). Guide to the National Parks of the United States cites the park is home to nine tide-water glaciers that calve. The glaciers in the eastern and southwestern parts are receding, while the glaciers on the west side are advancing (438-439). Glacier Bay states Glacier Bay National Park is attached to two other parks, making it the largest roadless area. The two parks Glacier Bay National Park is connected are Kluane that is in British Columbia and St. Alias that is in Alaska. Bearlee Island is a great place to see many animals and landscapes. There are often moose, bald eagles, bears, and seals to be seen, and there are many different plants that can be seen from there (Glacier Bay). The breathtaking views catch the human eye and make a person look twice at what they are seeing.

The final reason everyone should visit Glacier Bay National Park is because of the activities people can do while they are at the park. Glacier Bay quotes there are many activities to take part in at the park. There is kayaking, canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, charter fishing, camping, and many more. Many visitors to the park take part in some of these activities during their stay. The activities are enjoyed by most of the guests. The activities are mainly for adults, but there are many kid friendly activities such as hiking and boat tours (Glacier Bay). National Park Service states there are many hiking trails that range from one mile to eight miles. On these hiking trips one can see the wilderness first hand. The wilderness is one of the many unique things about this park (National Park Service). Glacier Bay states boat tours are one of the many activities at the park. Since the park is on remote locations, many often choose to take boat tours. On the boat tours, visitors can see the majestic snow capped mountains, rich waters, and many more sights. Another activity is a private yacht tour. All the trips are customized the person’s wants. The tours are all inclusive with three rooms, hot meals, snacks, drinks, fish cleaning, fish bait, and fishing gear (Glacier Bay). Guide to the National Parks of the United States quotes the park is like a marine highway. Most of the visitors see the park from the deck of a boat, in a kayak, or in a canoe. Most visitors say that is was a very relaxing time being on the boat, and it is also relaxing being able to see the park (439). Glacier Bay National Park is home to many activities that can be enjoyed by anyone of any age.
