To start of camp, we took all the kids (5th-8th graders) on a hike at camp beechwood and had them explore flooding, erosion and invasive species. After our hike, we split them up into 3 groups and had them do an activity based on the content (for my group it was erosion).  Each child got to see all of the content areas, and then decide which one they wanted to be in based on their interests and friends! For erosion, we decided to use a website that shows erosion stimulation, which shows the kids how the different effects that make erosion happen. We will also be using google maps to actually see Sodus Point! One of the challenges we are facing is actually getting wifi connected to our computers or the computers at the school. Without the internet, we can't do half our lesson plans! Fortunately we will have computers available, but it something we were worried about.
