         <description><![CDATA[<div> -There are three parts to multiple choice questions:<br>  1. Stem (question itself)<br>  2. Answer (correct answer)<br>  3. Distractors (incorrect options)<br><br>-Advantages: can measure a variety of objectives, easy to score, can cover lots of material efficiently, carefully crafted distractors can provide diagnostic information.<br><br>-Disadvantages: Guessing can skew the score, can be hard to identifiy plausable distractors.<br><br>-Guidelines: Ask complete questions to get items started if you can, don't repeat the same words in each response options, be sure there is only one correct answer, word response options need to be brief, the stem should not contain relevant material that can decrease the vailidity of the test scores. <br><br><strong>NOTABLE INFO:<br></strong><br>-Do not repeat the same words in your stem as in your answers. <br><br>-Can be written to assess various levels of learning outcomes.<br><br>-Stem should be meaningful.<br><br>-Multiple choice questions and answers should be connected. <br><br>-Great felixibility in assessing lower and higher order thinking.<br><br>-The alternative answers should be the same length as the correct answer. <br><br>-Alternatives should be presented in logicial order.<br><br>-Use multiple choice when there is only one correct answer.<br><br><br><br> <br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
