My middle school experience is what I consider to be typical. I was discovering who I was, going through friendship troubles, and questioning the world around me. According to Manning, middle school should be a developmental experience with a positive climate. It should promote community and encourage learning (p. 10-11). I feel as though I had both positive and negative experiences in middle school. I think that many teachers attempted to foster our development and individuality, while others did not. One aspect of the middle school that Manning mentions that I did not have, is an adult advocate. Manning stresses the importance of every student having an adult advocate. When I was in middle school, we did not have an advisory program or any type of program that encouraged relationships between the students and teachers. The way my district was set up made it so that 5th and 6th graders were in a separate school. I feel as though my 5th and 6th grade years were more geared toward finding my individuality. The 5th and 6th grade school I was in had social and emotional learning that promoted things like self expression and anti-bullying. My middle school (7th and 8th grade) did not have this program. I believe that the concept of middle school is positive if implemented correctly. I love the idea of advisory in middle schools because it encourages a relationships with teachers and students. This game is similar to kahoot. I have only used kahoot as a student, but I think that quizizz is better for younger students. It is a way that teachers can assess students but also allows students to play games in order to practice content. I personally would use Quizizz over kahoot in my classroom because of how kid friendly it is. It has memes, allows for sharing to social media, and is more interactive.

My score was 58.3. I thought that I was score higher on the creativity scale but I found the test to be challenging. It made me think outside of the box and in a way that I don't usually think. I liked the test and how it explained the different types of creativity at the end and where I fall on the scale of creativity.
