I really liked working as a group and reviewing the vocabulary through a game. I personally have a hard time concentrating if I am sitting and listening for extended periods of time (20mins+), so if we had more activities or discussion between the "lectures" it would be a lot more engaging!

Sometimes I find it confusing to sort through all of the emails that we receive throughout the week, and the Blackboard documents that are posted. I would appreciate more concise and organized communication with students (e.g. In emails, and Blackboard course documents and announcements, assignment sign-ups using Google Docs).

Split Grades

This isn't so much a suggestion, but is a question that has come up for me and I was wondering if there is some way look into it. I have become increasingly interested in how to effectively teach literacy to split grades i.e Gr. 3-4. I would really like to experience working through an activity that would be able to target 2 grades at once if possible.

Second Virtual Tour Assignment

Perhaps we could focus on watching multiple virtual tours (2-3?) in a junior grade to give a broad understanding in a certain grade level. We could then focus on our top 5 activities and how/why we could benefit from using them in our classroom, and how we could modify them for our classrooms. I think this would be a great opportunity for us to see more ideas for excellent literacy programming and the assignment could involve writing a reflection about how we can include these in our teaching practice for the most effective literacy programming.

We are finding we have gained so much from the readings, class material and the other assignments that completing a second virtual tour may not add as much value as exploring more tours, gaining more ideas and reflecting upon them for our own practice.
