Includes that morphology is the study of morphemes and the arrangement of morphemes in word formation. In bahasa menyertakan bahwa morfologi merupakan kajian tentang morfem-morfem dan penyusunan morfem pada pembentukan kata.

Stating that morphology is a branch of linguistics that identifies the basic units of language as grammatical units. In bahasa Menyatakan bahwa morfologi yaitu cabang linguistik yang mengidentifikasi satuan-satuan dasar bahasa sebagai satuan yang gramatikal.

*Samsuri (1988: 15)

Defines morphology as a branch of linguistics that studies the structure and form of words. In bahasa Mendefinisikan morfologi sebagai cabang linguistik yang mempelajari struktur dan bentuk kata.

Free morphemes are morphemes that can stand alone into words without having to be bound / attached to other morphemes. In bahasa Free morphemes adalah morfem yang bisa berdiri sendiri menjadi kata tanpa harus terikat/menempel pada morfem lain.

Free morphemes are divided into 2 :

*Lexical morphemes are morphemes that can stand alone and that can convey the contents of the message we convey. In bahasa Lexical morphemes adalah morfem yang bisa berdiri sendiri dan itu bisa menyampaikan isi dari pesan yang kita sampaikan.
Examples : Write (Verb), Sweet (Adjective) and Smarphone (Noun).
*Functional morphemes are morphemes that can stand alone but the contents are unclear. In bahasa Functional morphemes adalah morfem yang bisa berdiri sendiri namun belum jelas isi yang akan disampaikan.
Examples :  Will (Conj), At (Prep), The (Artc) And They (Pronoun).

Bound morphemes are morphemes that cannot stand alone but must be bound / attached to other morphemes. In bahasa Bound morphemes adalah morfem yang tidak bisa berdiri sendiri melainkan harus terikat/menempel pada morfem lain.
Bound Morphemes are divided into 2 :
*Derivational morphemes are morphemes which, if attached to other morphemes, will form new morphemes / words or to form words with grammar (lexeme) that are different from the previous word. In derivational there are 2 types, which can be found in the beginning of a word (prefixes) or in the end of a word (suffixes), in Indonesian we are used to know them as affixes. In bahasa derivational morphemes adalah morfem yang jika diikatkan/ditempelkan pada morfem lain akan membentuk morfem/kata yang baru atau untuk membentuk kata dengan gramatika (lexeme) yang berbeda dari kata sebelumnya. Di dalam derivational ada 2 macam, yaitu bisa terdapat in the beginning of a word (prefixes) atau in the end of a word (suffixes), di dalam bahasa Indonesia kita biasa mengenalnya dengan sebutan imbuhan (affixes).
Example : Work (Verb) if you add -er, it will be worker (noun).
