Interestingly, multilingualism was seen as a damaging thing for child development, but nowadays less than half the population of the world speaks more than one language. That shows the fact we live in a globalized world, in which many cultures interact. As the bilingual guy in one of the videos said: a language is a form of seeing the world, and it involves a lot of cultural mechanisms. That means that multilingual people can recognize and appreciate the difference between speakers' communities, which is fundamental to developing an identity full of values such as respect and tolerance.
Otherwise, I find it very interesting that speaking more than one language helps you to develop better attention mechanisms, which are important in all matters (such as learning). That means that bilingual and multilingual people find it a bit easier to solve problems and keep track of things. I identify myself as a coordinated bilingual (who has a lot to learn, evidently), and one of the best qualities I have is mental openness, which has helped me to be creative, respectful, and curious. Undoubtedly, having the chance to speak more than one language is invaluable.
- Valeria Ernestina Mejía Sánchez

For me, the lecture is interenting who learning a second language have more benefits that can communicate yourself with more people around the word, but that to help you to get an active brain helping you in the short and long time to keep you healthy and prepare differently for situations that people monolinguals are not so prepared for. About the videos, it is surprising that the brain chance is defferent from the brain of a monolingual who we have the capacity for change our brain in this way and it is surprising to that in the past this was seen as something wrong.

Nowadays we live in a globalized world where knowing more than one language has become a necessity, being bilingual carry much professional, academic and even personal life weight. In this article we read about the advantages of being bilingual or multilingual, from how it is good for your health as it prevents (or delays the process) degenerative diseases, the performance of multitasking and the ability to concentrate better than monolingual people. Likewise, knowing more than one language opens up new horizons for us, as we become more open to learning new languages and all the culture that comes with it, thus, we also become more sensitive and appreciate our mother tongue.
As for the video, it was interesting to know that there are different types of bilingual people and how the context in which they find themselves interferes in the learning of the second language. Also, it explains how ages affect when you want to learn another language due to the disconnection of emotions, as it is very different from how a child gets them based on their own experiences to an adult who takes examples, but in most cases, fails to associate them with their reality. And, although being bilingual doesn't make us smarter, our brain is healthier and more flexible when learning different and new tasks.
