Understanding the motives behind bullying behavior can help parents and teachers teach children how to refrain from doing so. The more information parents, teachers and school administrators have, the fewer bullying incidents will occur. Thankfully, there is an increase in the number of bullying statistics that reveal why children become bullies online and in real life.
According to the 2009 survey by the Teen Online & Wireless Safety, the most common reasons for bullying include:

11% show off for their friends.

14% want to be mean.

21% are out to embarrass the victim.

28% use it for entertainment.

58% are trying to get back at the victim for various reasons.

58% feel the victim deserves it.

16% have other reasons.

References
NoBullying - Bullying & CyberBullying Resources.
What is the statistics of Cyber-bullying?

It has long been known that there is significant overlap between school and online bullying. People observed this again in our most recent dataset. For example, 83% of the students who had been cyberbullied recently (in the last 30 days), had also been bullied at school recently. Similarly, 69% of the students who admitted to bullying others at school also bullied others online. So it is very likely that the causes and correlates of bullying influence behaviors and experiences across environments: what makes someone an attractive target at school makes them a good target online; what causes someone to be mean at school also causes them to be mean online. Our relatively large sample should enable us to utilize multivariate analyses to better understand the similarities and differences between those who experience–or participate in–different forms of bullying.

*References

Patchin, J.

Where does bullying most occur?
According to the NICHD survey, as well as many other studies, the typical trajectory of bullying is an increase and peak after elementary school, during the middle school years, followed by a decrease during the high school years. If this is the case, then the transition from elementary to middle school would be a particularly critical period for prevention and intervention efforts.
*References:BULLYING - WHERE DOES BULLYING OCCUR?

References

aleman, m., aleman, m., aleman, m., aleman, m., aleman, m., aleman, m. and aleman, m.

what is the average of suicide rate because of bullying? Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year, according to the CDC. For every suicide among young people, there are at least 100 suicide attempts. Over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide, and almost 7 percent have attempted it. Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University. A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying 10 to 14 year old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide, according to the study above According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying.
http://www.bullyingstatistics.org/content/bullying-and-suicide.html
Picture
https://nobullying.com/bullying-suicide-statistics/
